In Florida, close relatives are exempt form being accessories after the fact. However, there is an exception to this law. If the crime committed was a capital, life, first-degree, or second degree felony, a relative may be charged with “accessory after the fact” unless the court finds that the person is a victim of domestic violence. This law can be found under Fla.Stat. Section 777.03(1)(b).
