Illegal gambling crimes are covered under 18 USC Section 1955. Under this law, anyone who supervises, directs, manages, finances, or owns all or part of an illegal gambling business will be fined no more than $20,000 or sent to prison for no more than five years, or both.

An illegal gambling business is defined as a business in violation of its state or political subdivision that has been operating for at least thirty days, involves five or more people, and has gross revenue of $2000.00 per day.

This statute is constitutional under the Commerce Clause.
