Marijuana pot international importation

Conspiracy to import marijuana

Marijuana importation is a continuing crime.  That means the crime continues until it reaches its final destination.  A international importation charge for marijuana can be proven if it is shown that you participated in the crime at some point.

Many times the Feds will add a conspiracy count to the pot importation count.  To be convicted of conspiracy to import marijuana, the feds must prove that the defendant knewthe marijuana would be imported.  The essence of a conspiracy is an agreement.  You don’t need to know every detail about how the pot was being imported into the United States.  You just need to know the essential nature of the agreement.
