Palm Beach judges up 2012

Jamie Goodman filed against Alvarez.  Alvarez has two years left I think.  If Alvarez looses, he won’t be able to take any kind of senior status.  Big risk.  When Jaime was running for group 33 – now Lisa Small’s seat, the Palm Beach Daily News reported:

With more than 27 years of litigation and 24 years of jury trial experience, Goodman said he is the most experienced candidate in the race. He earned an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible.

Goodman, 52, said independence is a key factor in being a judge and is not accepting contributions from attorneys, businesses or anyone.

“The hallmarks of a really good judge, in my opinion, are experience, trust and independence,” Goodman said.

“The last 17 years, I have been representing, proudly, civil rights victims and complex employment discrimination litigation.”

“Fast Eddie” Garrison filed for Judge Nelson Bailey’s seat.  Elected to the bench at age 28 – yes, 28.  The drop program was good to him.  I heard that Laurie Cohen filed and then changed her mind.  But, that’s not on the website.  Jane Sullivan is going to file for that seat too.  Expect some competition for that seat.  Garrison isn’t going to get an appointed spot again.  He was damn near laughed at when he tried for Mass’ old spot.  He retired.  Then he decided he wanted back in.  No thanks said the Guv.
