Glades CI being shut down

Post has the story here. What the article doesn’t mention – Glades CI is one of the oldest prisons in the entire state. When the guv’ment tried to privatize it initially, every private company turned it down. The layout of the prison is such that it is just too expensive to operate. They look at the number of guards per inmate among other things.

I was in Belle Glade a couple of days ago. The migrant farm workers are gone. Apparently, Big Sugar had a disagreement with the farm workers so they fired them and mechanized the entire process.

As a result, even more businesses are closed down. They were shuttered up and it wasn’t for a hurricane.

Did you know that Belle Glade has one of the largest populations of Arabs in the states per capita? They owned many of the businesses there. That’s changing now too. They are getting tired of being robbed at gunpoint.
